Title - Optimize parts and process through DFMA in OHT and HEX products using Group Technology
& DFMA software
Description – Cost reduction and optimization of parts in an off highway truck (OHT) & Hyd. Excavator
(HEX). The concepts of Group technology (GT) and Design for manufacture and assembly (DFMA) are
applied for the evaluation. The study focuses on the fundamental approaches and principles laid out
by Group technology. The principles of GT are applied for fastener group of off highway trucks. A
database of all the possible parts to be commonized is created and evaluated by tacit judgment or
visual inspection in engineering drawings. Optimization of Steering Tank module of the truck is
performed in DFMA software. All possible volume reduction and standardization which resulted in
significant cost and part count reduction are presented in this research work.

"Work Window Calculation and Visualization of 6-DOF Robotic system by using FANUC M6-
IB robot". This research focuses on work window calculation of FANUC M-6iB and analysis of
it. Visual representation is performed by MATLAB and validated on robot simulator. Work
envelope visualization ensures robots can be reconfigured and optimal robot path can be
generated.
B.E. Project: “Demonstration of Prototype for Electricity generation using Bump Energy”. This
generator is a specially planned design and fabricated conversion unit for utilizing the
available unconventional energy source that is tremendously available in low intensity with
ample quantity. This device converts reciprocating motion into rotary motion. The rotational
motion is fed to alternator that generates electricity. The vehicles which are crossing the
generator are applying force or thrust on the speed breaker. This pressure energy can be
utilized to operate the rack and pinion gearing and through the train of gears can operate the
pulley and belt transmission system.
Mini project: “Underwater Welding”. A review project on existing underwater welding
techniques and their working.
