Objective
After 20 years working in almost every aspect of the entertainment/event industry
Justin is a confident, calm and capable Production/Stage/Tour Manager and
Audio/Lighting/Video Operator. He is currently living in Brisbane freelancing with
various venues and events mostly as a stage manager and audio operator.. His
current focus is exploring different cultural performance types and devising
effective production elements to enhance these performances. He is constantly
on the look out for new trends in entertainment technology and learning how to
implement them in his ongoing work. Most recently this has included projection
mapping and using specific bands of frequencies to trigger video effect

Stage Manager
Interpreting technical stage plots and devising strategies for seamless
changeovers between acts.
Liaising with touring crew and local production crew to ensure all technical
requirements were met.
Managing stagehand labour.
After the Brisbane show Justin was offered the same stage to manage in
Sydney the following week.

2. Townsville Cultural Festival August 2016
Production Manager
This role included stage and staff scheduling, collating technical
specifications of artists and liaising with production companies and
contractors to insure all technical requirements were met.
Authoring stage schedule / tech specs document for stage managers and
production crew.
Writing event risk assessment documents for City Council and attending
meetings with officials to discuss safety measures.
Overseeing the implementation of the festival design.
Garma Festival
Audio Operator at the Key Forum and Bungul Dance Ground
Sending live audio feeds to TV trucks (SBS and NITV).
Managing speakers and performers with little experience in live sound
fortification.
Setting up delay lines for a time aligned audio throw over a long distance.

Managed multiple mixes for stage sound for all bands including Dune Rats
and Methyl Ethyl.

3. Good Life Festival February 2016
Stage Manager
This role was mostly an artist liaison position that involved meeting the
artists as they arrived at the stage and discussing any special technical
requirements, transitions and set times.
Towards the end of the scheduled show the Queensland Police Service
requested a change in set times for the closing set to offset exits
becoming congested. Justin oversaw all departments being informed of
the change.
Big Sound September 2015
FOH / MON Audio operation
All bands only had line checks and limited time to get stage and FOH
mixes right but succeeded in doing so.
Twilight (Dancenorth Townsville) September 2015

Site specific project involving 20 small performance by various community
and dance groups.

4. Mother Africa Circus April 2014 – October 2014
Production Manager / Lighting Operator / Audio Operator
Authoring the Technical Specifications document sent ahead to all venues
and liaised with venue technical staff to ascertain if production equipment
had to be hired.
Focusing all relevant lighting fixtures and programming console.
Sound checking 12 piece band and six wireless microphones with eight
monitor sends. Always starting from scratch using in house systems
except where they were using a digital console that had previously been
used on the tour where a show file had been saved.
Operating both Audio and Lighting consoles during the show.
