God wants each person to become the best version of themselves by developing their unique talents and strengths. To do so requires focusing on personal growth through daily prayer and Bible study, making choices that honor God, and surrounding oneself with people who encourage spiritual development rather than compromise values.
Do you look like your parents? For me, some may say I really look like my dad. He just smiles more often and I don’t. Hehe. It’s just amazing to see how a child can really resemble his or her father or mother. We have a resemblance to our earthly parents no matter who big or small it may be. But we should also consider our resemblance to our heavenly Father. We will learn a lot about this as we study 1 John chapter 3.
Unity among believers is important for three key reasons:
1) God bestows blessings on those who are united, as seen in examples of oil and dew being symbols of unity.
2) Unity is the heartbeat of Jesus, as our unity in purpose and spirit through acknowledging Jesus as Lord witnesses to the world.
3) There is power in unity, as united believers can accomplish more and have strength against the devil's attempts to cause division, while division weakens the church's impact.
How special is mankind to God.

Psalm 133 describes the blessings of unity among brothers. It compares unity to precious oil running down Aaron's beard and garments, and to the dew on Mount Hermon descending on Mount Zion. Where brothers dwell together in unity, the Lord commands his blessing of life forevermore.
This document discusses spiritual warfare and the armor of God described in Ephesians 6. It explains that Christians wrestle not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces of evil. The document outlines the belt of truth, breastplate of righteousness, gospel of peace, shield of faith, helmet of salvation, and sword of the Spirit as the armor provided by God to withstand attacks. It encourages meditating on relying on God rather than one's own abilities and walking in truth by stripping off anything that hinders spiritual battle.
The document discusses the meaning of the word "Brethren" and what it means to be brethren according to scripture. It defines brethren as those who have purified their souls through obedience to God (1), those who have fraternal love for one another as commanded by Christ (2), and those who show brotherly love as outlined in several Bible passages (3). It notes that all humanity were once enemies of God but through Christ's sacrifice we can become brethren (7). Finally, it states that true brethren are those who do God's will as exemplified by Jesus' family seeking him out (8).
God is Closer Than You Think - Part 5 - Paul Gardnersajsaj
This document contains greetings from Paul in a letter to the Colossians. It introduces several individuals including Tychicus who was being sent to encourage them, Aristarchus who was imprisoned with Paul, Mark who had rejoined Paul in ministry after deserting them previously, Justus who sent greetings, Epaphras who constantly prayed for them, Luke the doctor, Demas, and Onesimus. Paul instructs the Colossians to share the letter with the church in Laodicea and to welcome Archippus to complete the work received in the Lord.

Bishop Wayne T Jackson's newest Blog post talks about the importance of having faith and coping with pressure. You have to push through - you will always come out stronger on the other side.
This is the third of four talks focusing on what we do when we gather together as church. The talks focuses on our need to seek God's help, most obviously through prayer, but more fundamentally by feeding on Jesus through the bread and wine of communion and the word of God.
Ezra led the Israelites in a prayer of confession and praise to God. They acknowledged their and their ancestors' sins and failures to obey God. The prayer recounted God's mighty acts of creation, choosing Abraham, delivering the Israelites from slavery in Egypt through signs and wonders, and bringing them into the Promised Land despite their disobedience. The people confessed their sins and sought God's forgiveness while also praising him for his faithfulness, mercy, and righteousness.
The document discusses hosting and dwelling in God's presence. It notes that the highest priority in life is to dwell in God's daily presence, as He created humanity to live with Him. However, sin expelled humanity from God's presence. Jesus is the only way back into God's presence. Like David, believers should seek God's presence above all else to behold His beauty and know Him. By living in God's presence, believers will receive His protection, power, and victory over enemies. The believer has been given the same authority as Jesus to work miracles. As stewards of God's mysteries and grace, believers are to handle God's presence with honor and protect it, as hosting God is filled with responsibility and mystery.
Sermon Slide Deck: "Seeing & Savouring The Glory Of Jesus" (excerpts from 2 C...New City Church
The work of the Spirit of God is to reveal the glory of God in the person of Jesus Christ.
This message was given on March 23, 2014 at New City Church in Calgary by Pastor John Ferguson. For More info, please visit:www.newcitychurch.ca.

This document discusses the transformation of the Apostle Peter from an impulsive and overconfident man to a rock of the early church. It outlines key facts about Peter from the gospels, including that he was the first disciple called and the one spoken to most often by Jesus. As Simon, Peter was unembarrassedly self-confident and unquestionably impulsive. The document argues that two keys led to Peter's transformation: proximity to Jesus and developing humility and teachability. It encourages applying these lessons by prioritizing time with Jesus and cultivating true humility.
Social Media & Technology in Ministry: A Latino/a ApproachSamuel Robles Jr.
This is a workshop I put together for Hispanic/Latino(a) pastors and leaders. Most of the information that exists about social media is euro-centric, and not much exists about its value in ministry. This is an approach to social media in the Hispanic context, and serves as a "conversation-starter" for its potential in ministry.
The document discusses the authority that Satan and his demons have over sinners and saints. It examines Satan's names in Hebrew and Greek which mean "adversary", "accuser", and "devil". While Satan and his demons can influence and tempt people, their power is limited and not omnipotent. The document asserts that through Christ's death, he destroyed Satan's power over death. It encourages believers to stand firm in faith against Satan's schemes by putting on the full armor of God.
God gave us His Word for a purpose. God wants us to be with Him in heaven. To do this we must change from serving Satan to serving God. God gave His Word so we would know how to live our lives. God gave His Word so we would change.
You’ll find encouragement in this lesson if you are struggling in prayer. Some misconceptions about prayer are addressed and three simple reminders are given: prayer’s focus is God, prayer seeks the will of God, and we must live righteously.
The document discusses experiencing the love of God as our Heavenly Father. It explores how our perceptions of God are often shaped by our earthly fathers and experiences of abandonment or lack of affection. Living as slaves rather than sons stems from not internalizing the Father's unconditional love. The document advocates for healing from wounds through reconciling with the Father's love as shown through Jesus. This allows us to live freely as beloved sons and daughters instead of in performance or shame.
Bishop Wayne T Jackson discusses a recent article featured on Entrepreneur.com - the article stresses the importance of a meaningful connection between a charity and its donors.
The document discusses how to renew one's mind through transforming harmful habits and thoughts by making choices to die to oneself daily, developing godly routines of prayer and meditation, and allowing the Holy Spirit to lead one's mind to focus on Jesus Christ. Scriptures are referenced about the dangers of an unrenewed mind and the importance of transformation through spiritual renewal.
The document discusses how Christians should live in the world but not be defined by it. It provides examples from the Letter to Diognetus of how early Christians lived counter-culturally by conforming to social customs but not adopting worldly values or behaviors. Christians married, had families and jobs like others but did not kill children and maintained separate sleeping arrangements. They obeyed laws but surpassed them through holy living. The letter encourages Christians to transform by renewing their minds, not conforming to the world.

It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375

Becoming more and more like Jesus. This
word transform can also be translated as
metamorphosis. Like a caterpillar that
becomes a butterfly. WE must live a life of
contemplation, beholding the Son if we are
going to become like him. Times of devotion
and prayer. Many churches fear change.
