REFLECTIONS: THANK YOU LORD FOR ORCHESTRATION CGEMS’ VIRTUAL
CELEBRATION OF 23RD ANNUAL GREATEST LOVE AFFAIR FEBRUARUY 19,
2022
“Pre-Pandemic, Pandemic and Post Pandemic: Be Steadfast,
Unmoveable, Always Abounding in the Work of the Lord!”
1 Corinthian 15:58Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast,
unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye
know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
HIGH PRAISE TO OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST!
• The First and Greatest Missionary, who came to live among mankind to save us from our sins!
• …For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the
righteousness of God in him. 2 Corinthians 5:21 Greater love has no one than this, than to lay
down one’s life for his friends. John 15:13 That is The Greatest Love Affair!
• We Praise You, Lord for saving us and making us vessels fit for your use to be Co-Laborers
together with you! And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness
to all the nations, and then the end will come (Matthew 24:14). Lord, we Praise you for the
missionaries of this era, who in obedience to your call, are committed to take the Gospel into the
world as Career Missionaries! Thank you, Lord Jesus for leading & keeping CGEMS on mission with
you for 23 years! Thank you for the people that you assembled on Saturday to hear from you
concerning your mandate to GO into all the world with the Gospel of Jesus!
• The following are just a birds’ eye view of how The Lord orchestrated His GLA…beginning with His
anointing on Sis Jeannette DuPriest to lead the Worship Service to His Honor & Glory; Powerfully
leading us to the throne of Grace was Missionary Georgina Afolabi Prayer and Reading of the
Written Word with Power and Clarity was Dr Mary Thomas! Pastor Sherard Graham uniquely and
warmly introduced our Speaker, Rev. Glenn Mason! AND…
GOD’S PEOPLE OF AFRICAN DESCENT IN MISSIONS
THEN AND NOW
by CGEMS BILLIE JUNE WHITLEY
• I wanted to remind us of 3 Pioneer Missionaries & our start in His-story
• Though not as well known, several of the pioneering American missionaries had
been slaves, such as George Liele, the first American missionary; Lott Carey was
another one of the early Black American missionaries, and the first American Baptist
missionary to Africa; and Betsey Stockton was the first African American single
female missionary to the Sandwich Islands. She was a prominent Educator and used
her several schools as mission fields!
• These Black missionaries were followed by many other POAD and they all faced
many hinderances but through the Power of the Holy Spirit, they trusted God to
bring many souls to Christ!
• Praise God! There is a Missions Movement today! But not w/out hinderances and
obstacles! How can we to overcome them? Each of us must pray and ask God to
show us His path. CGEMS is committed to aid churches to advance in their missions’
commitment!
WHY SO FEW BLACK MISSIONARIES?
By Billie June WHITLEY
• Several reasons were presented and vary in Black churches. Let’s pray
for a break-through in a few hinderances/obstacles:
• There is not a clear understanding of Missions and Evangelism, they are often
considered one and the same or used interchangeable.
• There is not a focus nor a commitment to the biblical mandate to go into the
World with the Gospel; To give monetary and prayer support.
• That people who go on STMT’s will Pray God’s will for a long-term effect
• Commitment to the Mandate: Go [a]therefore and make disciples of all the
nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the
Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded
you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” [b] Amen.
Matthew 28:19-20
CGEMS’ NETWORK MISSIONARIES
• We rejoiced to hear the stories of God’s envoys that He has thrust out to witness the
Gospel of Jesus Christ in the world! We were in awe of God’s accomplishments through
His vessels! CGEMS’ supports these 9 NWM with prayer and monetary support. Sis
Lorraine Beaton led us in prayer seeking God to help us to give to the Annual Sacrificial
Offering to be divided equally to their support. Praise God for the Sacrificial offerings
that came in on Saturday through His people in the coming days and weeks!
• We Praise God the Video Compilation of the missionaries’ intro & updates by Sis Grace
Kubikisha-Carter; of which Dr. Mary Thomas introduced with an explanation of the “Meet
the Missionary Hour” to engage them in Break-rooms for questions, which followed
God’s Messenger of the Hour, Ren Glenn Mason. More High Praise to our Triune God
who raised up a standard against the enemy’s plans to hinder the technology! Praise
Jesus for an understanding group of God’s people!
• Praise God for the Technicians Kim White, Jessica Jones, Raul Beaton who persevered
and did not give-up with breakroom technical issues when Missionary Temwa Wright
called for prayer as she began using her expertise on the issues. God heard our cry! We
give Him the Glory! Pray for Missionary Jessica who will be leaving for her assignment in
just a few months!
MESSAGE FROM REV GLENN MASON
of CARVER INTERNATIONAL MISSIONS
• Our hearts did burn as God’s Messenger put all the missions’ education in
the context of the theme verse: …Be Steadfast, Unmoveable, Always
Abounding in the Work of the Lord 1 Cor. 15:58
• Template for Difficult times:
• Get God’s Perspective through God’s eyes (according to the Scriptures). To Stand firm
we must know what you are standing for (Be steadfast, unmovable).
• Get Busy – Throw yourself into God’s work (Always abounding in His work).
• Expect return – God invented sowing and reaping…Your labor in Him is not in vain!
• Our challenges should never impact our service: God chooses to finance
His Mission through His people.
• Experiencing opposition is not a sign to stop but to change!
THE TASKS REMAINING
• Unreached People of the World – No indigenous church to evangelize their own. No indigenous
community of believing Christians able to evangelize the people group. Reached People Group -
Have a strong indigenous church to evangelize their own people.
• 10/40 Window – The core of the unreached people of our world lives in a rectangular-shaped
window! It is a belt that extends from West Africa across Asia, Between 10 degrees and 40
degrees North of the equator.
• Houses 8 out of 10 of the world’s poorest poor, both physically and spiritually. Deficits in Finances
and Laborers and only 01-.05% of all missionary funds are used to evangelize the 10/40. Only 8-
10% of the missionary force is working among these people groups
• The Lord is calling forth Laborers from
• Global South
• People of African DESCENT
• Europeans
• 4/14 Window
• Acts 1:8 Challenge
HOW CAN CGEMS HELP?
 CGEMS can bring a “Missions Education” on your “Missions Awareness Day”
 We can help by doing a pre-Missions Awareness Day to:
 Hear how the Lord has spoken to you
 Prayerfully do an analysis of your church’s missions’ commitment
 Determine how the Lord is leading you and start from wherever you are
 Action steps beyond the Missions Awareness Day include:
a) Permission from your Pastor to invite people to pray for the 10/40 Window
 b) Permission from your Pastor to begin a Missions’ Ministry/Missions Team
 Determine practical/doable steps to an on-going missions’ education
 c) On-going prayer to develop a plan to reach those goals.
 d) Review Seven Modules: How to Begin A Missions Ministry/Team
