Jane Wellington was the Industry Marketing Manager for Thoroughbred Racing SA, the governing body for thoroughbred racing in South Australia, from 2011 to 2015. She demonstrated a clear understanding of marketing strategy and implementation as well as a passion for her work. She established excellent relationships with racing clubs across South Australia and was able to develop and enhance the thoroughbred racing brand while also ensuring clubs delivered on marketing promises. Her outgoing personality helped her build strong relationships to support marketing initiatives. Her resignation due to relocation was disappointing for TRSA.

To Whom It May Concern
JANE WELLINGTON
Jane Wellington was appointed as Industry Marketing Manager for Thoroughbred Racing SA
(TRSA) (the governing body for thoroughbred racing in South Australia) in June 2011.
As soon as I met Jane for the first time (at her interview for the position), I considered we
were fortunate to have her as a candidate, and that optimism was clearly not misplaced as
TRSA has indeed been fortunate to have Jane’s services in the role over the past four years.
Jane has a clear understanding of marketing strategy and implementation, as well as a real
passion for her work. She has established excellent relationships with the various racing Clubs
with which she has worked across South Australia, large and small, all of which have their own
unique characters. Jane has not only been excellent in developing marketing strategies and
implementing those plans, she has been able to “bring the Clubs with her”, as we have developed
and enhanced a thoroughbred racing brand in South Australia. She is also focussed on the
final delivery of the event itself, and worked closely with Clubs to encourage them to deliver
on the “promise” within the marketing strategy.
Jane’s outgoing personality has been an important attribute in her developing strong
relationships with a wide cross section of media, Public Relations and entertainment/tourism
groups, which have all assisted our marketing initiatives.
Jane’s resignation, due to relocation to Dubai, was very disappointing for TRSA. We wish her
every success in her future employment and she will undoubtedly be an asset to any future
employer.
Yours sincerely
Jim Watters
Chief Executive
