The document discusses redefining oneself and not letting others define who you are. It describes situations where the author did activities with friends like going to bars or the mall even when wanting alone time at home. The author realizes they were doing things to please others and avoid being seen as "lame", rather than following their own desires. It encourages taking time to think about whether you can truly please everyone, and suggests it is better to just be yourself rather than trying to be multiple people. The conclusion advocates doing mistakes and finding new paths that satisfy yourself, in order to redefine who you are.
I don't know if Andy Roony really said this, but it is very nice.
If you're looking for a peaceful place to spend your time.

1. REDEFINING OURSELVES!
My 1st
friend-“let’s go to a bar and hang out”
Me- yes sure. Let’s go
My 2nd
friend-“hey...do you want to go to a mall and have fun?”
Me-yes definitely
My 3rd
friend-“hey...let’s go for a movie”
Me- yes that would be cool
And what I really wanted to do was just go to my home, make a cup of tea, wrap a blanket around
myself and enjoy my tea quietly, alone. There was nothing wrong with that, but to my friends it was
lame. Why would you rather be alone, if you can have fun, meet people and just hang out?
So I did those things anyway to please my friends and to avoid them think that I was lame and stupid
and so that I was not left out. And I don’t think I will be saying this just for myself when I say that that
we all have beendoingthingslike this our whole lives. We have been doing what others tell us to. We
have been letting others define us.
I want us all to take time and think about it. Can we make everyone around us happy? Every person
thinks in a different way, everyone is pleased by different things, then how can we please everyone
around us? It is possible only by being multiple people at a time. Isn’t it just better to be yourself?
A few months earlier I was in University Drama Club, AMU, taking a workshop when I was asked “who
are you?” It had me thinking, why do I do things that others want me to do even if that does not make
me happy and don’t make any sense to me? Why do I do things that do not satisfy me? Why do I keep
doing things that are leaving me empty inside? I thought I am smart, confident, and even weird in my
ownway. Why do I letothersguide me? Am I really lame if I want to have sometime to myself? Is it so
UN cool to think about “ME” for a while. Why can’t I just be myself and take my own path. Why can’t I
make my own road and make an example so that others would follow me? Why can’t I make my own
mistakes and learn from them. Doesn’t a child learn to walk only after he falls thousands of times?
So let’s do our mistakes…let’s make some promises and break them…Let’s break some ties and make
new ones…Let’s find a new road...Let’s find the child in us...Let’s do something that pleases us, which
satisfies us and makes us happy…lets “REDEFINE OURSELVES”.
