This document provides information about an internship at E.S.A.T la gauthiere, a center that helps disabled people integrate into the workforce. The center has four workshops, including plastic and carpentry, employing 69 residents. During the internship, the author supervised thermoforming machines and assisted with plasticizing metal parts, learning about the processes and how the workshop is organized for residents. It was a valuable learning experience.

My name is Gaëtan Maurin, I study in Jean perrrin, in plastics HNC.
It's not a really firm, it's a center which help disabled person to integrate
into a firm. The name is E.S.A.T la gauthiere, it's located in Pont de
l'étoile, it was created by A.R.A.I.M.C (association régional d'aide
aux infirmes moteurs cérébraux) in 1958, thanks to a donation by Mr
SAUNIER
The center has four workshops: plastic,jam pots, gardening, carpentry.
There are 69 employees in the different workshops, they are equipped with
machines adapted for them. They produce parts for many firms like
Eurocopter, Manex... they make parts by thermoforming, plasticizing and
packaging for Mehari club.
Its turnover is about 100,000€
-Thermoforming is to weaken a plastic plate with hot plate and molded
with mold, next we cool down part with air, and we unmold, the part is
finish.
-Plasticizing is paint on a metal part, we re-cover the part with a gun who
sprayed powder thermosetting, than we introduce in oven at 220° for
15minutes.
During this period, I had to supervise thermoforming machines I had to
position plastic plates and check if there are defects.
And second week, I had to help a resident to do plasticizing:I positioned
the metal parts that he had painted, next I have to positioned part on a
trolley, and I insert all in the over.
It was a profitable experience, I could discover plasticizing,learn more
about thermoforming, discover how to work with disabled, how workshop
is organized for the residents.

This period not show how is life in firm, it's not a real firm, and it's not
typical to firm plastic HNC.
