Our preliminary task for a school radio bulletin taught us that recording audio clips separately rather than all at once allowed for easier editing of mistakes. It also helped us learn how to properly use microphones, edit audio clips, and utilize recording software. The preliminary task provided practice in skills like interviewing, addressing an audience, and effective communication that informed our final, more polished bulletin.

1. Looking back atyour preliminary task, whatdo you feelyou have learntin the
progression from itto the full product?
Our preliminary task was only recorded in one recording, it was much shorter
so this option was available. We learnt that it was much better to record the
clips separately because when we made a mistake, we wouldn’thaveto re-
record the entire bulletin.
We didn’t edit our preliminary task becauseit was shortand it seemed
unnecessary. This meant that since the task I havelearnt how to efficiently edit
an audio clip and learnt how to use the adobe audition software.
The preliminary task helped with our bulletin becauseit taught us how to use
the microphones and which settings to use. Italso taught us how to physically
act during the bulletin, the correct tone of voice.
The previous task meant I learnt how to use new softwareand create a jingle
for our bulletin.
Our preliminary task gave us the ideas for our bulletin, how to address the
audience in the correct way to fit with our target audience. Italso gave
practice in interviewing someone else and how to effectively communicate
between them on an appropriatelevel.
Itmade us think of what was important within our bulletin and whatwould
need to be included.
