The Quality of Life Initiative is a long-term plan created by the City of Owasso, Oklahoma to guide sustainable growth and improve livability for current and new residents. Developed from 2010-present through public input, the plan aims to promote quality of life elements in the community. As project manager, the author worked with consultants to develop the final plan and citizen engagement campaign.

1. QUALITY OF LIFE INITIATIVE
CITY OF OWASSO, OK
Description
The Quality of Life Initiative is a document intended to create a long-term
vision that will guide Owasso’ growth as a sustainable and desirable
place to live and work. The project began in 2010 and involved
significant public engagement and input, which guided many of the
recommendations identified in the plan. The primary goal of the plan was
to promote and improve quality of life elements in the community so as
to expand the liveability of current residents as well as attracting new
residents. My role in the project was as project manger, where I worked
closely with two consulting firms to develop the final product and run the
citizen engagement campaign. The Quality of Life Initiative set the stage
for several zoning code amendments, complete streets policy, and
redirecting more funds into public parks.
