The present simple is used to describe habits and routines, facts that are always or generally true, and situations that are more or more permanent. It is also used to describe feelings and thoughts. Some examples of its use include talking about things done regularly like hobbies, describing facts of life, stating where someone lives or goes to school, describing feelings like likes and dislikes, and expressing opinions.
