Hey this Yazmine, Yazmine
Johnson..live and on screen
My major is Philosophy with the ambition of becoming a Family Lawyer.
Active Participant
• Seeing that my community and the ones that I have witnessed when
residing in Pennsylvania needs improvement
• I think it is important, if you want to be an active participant in our political
system to voice your standings in your own community issues.
• Recently we had the “Back the Bond” to support a new high school
• This was really important in helping our community, because it not only
educates everyone of how much updates we need, but it is also propelling
people to make their own stand
• Having an active voice is there for the greater good
• To get big we must start somewhere, and every decision effects multiple
factors. So, why not be apart of that decision?
Insight
• Something that I learned more on was the Parties Functions
• There are 7 full steps they go through that I was not aware of
• 1. Organize the election process
• 2. Facilitate voter choice
• 3. Recruit candidates
• 4.Aid candidates
• 5. Organize a complex government
• 6. Educate citizens and promote involvement
• 7. Ensure accountability
• Something I would enjoy to learn more about, it the process it can take for lawyers to prepare a
case, from civil to criminal cases.
• I did learn the process for cases to go to court and who they are handled from the start all the
way to the end, which differs.
Immigration
• This is something that we have spent a portion of the semester
talking about.
• This is important for now and future generations, because it is going
to be a topic of discussion for a long time coming
• Immigration right now is being discussed on whether there should be
wall built between Mexico and the USA. However, even though it is
America’s proposition, US wants Mexico to pay for it, which is causing
tension between the two. President Trump has even tried to pass
laws banning travel for other races. God has created us equally, and
this is how we should live. Open, and loving. Treat others the way you
want done unto yourself.
Amendment I
• The 1st Amendment is the most important one, in my opinion.
• Freedom of Religion, speech, press, assembly, petition
• These rights are the basic human rights that should be a given not
considered
• There is a reason it is the first amendment, it takes care in protecting
our rights to speak freely, and protest without punishment, to express
whatever religion you worship.
• This is the amendment that gives the rest of the Amendments some
ground to gain on, we are a free country, with the right to vote our
electors and so much more and it all begins with the 1st.
Lessons
• Something I learned that I know will stick with me is how much an
influence media has always been and will continue to be.
• Also how many things in the media are not cracked up to what it truly
is behind scenes, it is hidden and there is no sure way of obtaining the
correct information that we need, when every other source of
information portrays it in a different way.
• I also learned of the influence that interest groups have on the world.
The different kinds have different focuses, I feel like this is something
that I will always remember because I would like to be apart of a
movement one day for something so important that it will make
history or even something small that will support .the higher things
