MINIMIZING THE INCREASING SOLID WASTE THROUGH ZERO
WASTE STRATEGY
In the past decade, the enormous amount of solid waste materials is rapidly increasing. Due to
population, booming in the economy, and the living standards have greatly accelerated the solid
waste generation in the world particularly in developing countries such as the Philippines which
is known to be the third-largest ocean polluter in the world. Given the proceeding trash issues in
the Philippines which damage the environment, waste management, in reality, an important
advance to determine and limit all trash related issues in the nation.
Intense focus has been on recycling in residential areas in reducing solid waste. However, success
derived from landfills and dumpsites is not enough to reduce total waste. What is much additionally
disturbing is the way that the pace of increase in the measure of trash or waste created regularly,
fundamentally escalates. Evidently, most landfills and trash dumpsites topped off quickly. In that
capacity, there is an extraordinary risk that the nation may come up short on appropriate dump
sites and waste offices that will at last lead to advance ecological and human dangers.. (Imagine

In short, zero-waste approaches have existed in the current world, and the Philippines is practicing
this system as well. Zero waste is a very complex system, and there are still mountains of works
that need to do in the future. In order to minimize the solid waste to zero waste, it needs all of the
people together to act to reduce, reuse, and recycling them for getting rid of waste from our land.
Zero waste is indeed a desirable goal. However, although a path towards zero waste may already
have been simulated, there is still a long road ahead of us.
