Qualified institutional placements have provided returns over 35% on average since March 2009 according to a report from brokerage firm SMC Capitals. Unitech's QIP in April 2009 has seen the highest returns of 177.53% as the amount raised of Rs.1,621.10 crore is now worth Rs.4,499.08 crore. Only five out of 24 QIPs since March have traded below their issue price, and QIPs from companies like Shree Renuka Sugars, Webel-SL Energy, and Indiabulls Real Estate have also seen returns over 35%.
