It is used widely, from shoes to medical devices. 3D printers work by building objects layer by layer using various technologies like inkjet printing. While 3D printers were once large, desktop versions are now available for around $20,000. 3D printing could disrupt traditional manufacturing by enabling on-demand printing of custom products and parts.
