In 2012, the President’s Special Envoy on the MDGs has been
making effort to create an enabling environment for
sustainable partnership across different sectors, yet;
The rate of MIMR is increasing despite efforts to reduce the
number, by 100 mortality this year.
Greater intersectoral engagement is needed and should be
cultivated to complement government-driven programmes.
Issues of accountability and CSO government partnership is
still thriving
3. Indonesia is Preparing for SDGs
With the end of MDGs this year, still left homework for
Indonesia.
The government should attend seriously on regulatory,
financial, and institutional framework and must be
set-up properly to ensure the implementation of SDGs
4. As the 4th largest world population, and middle income
countries, Indonesia shares similar problems with
other countries in Asia and South America.
Indonesia as one of south east asia emerging countries
has been struggling with dollars rate that going strong.
This implicate so many sectors in Indonesia mostly in
health sectors.
5. YAKKUM
One of the oldest and largest faith based organization
from minority group in Indonesia
It was established as Indonesia Churches desire to
respond to calls of bringing in the love of God to
human.
The embodiments of Love is expressed by the Synod of
the Java Christian Church and Central Java Indonesian
Christian Church (GKI Central Java) to participate in
building the life of the state, especially in the field of
public health.
6. Indonesia has been implementing National Health
Insurance system called BPJS
Ideally this system is to provide a quality health service for all the citizen
by paying affordable monthly fee
Advocating for PWD included in BPJS
7. Now, Yakkum has 13 hospitals, 3 health institutions (2
nurse academy and midwifery), and working with
Duta Wacana Christian University established the
Faculty of Medicine (2009)
Beside in hospitals and education YAKKUM have
3 CSO working in 3 different sectors that respond to
humanitarian and emergency aid, rehabilitation centre
and community development

promoting health to remote areas.
9. As NGO focused on Public Health we are independent
and non subsidised by government
We keep our stance in working with government and
being critical towards government programs and then
convey our recommendation
As an interfaith organization members of Humanitarian
Forum Indonesia and ACT Indonesian Forum we
uphold human rights, gender equality and inclusion.
10. As NGO works on community outreaching, people
empowerment and humanitarian.
It is important to see people as the subject of our service
YAKKUM has been putting efforts in the middle of this
year to push Core Humanitarian Standards into all our
units for accessibility, transparency, accountability
YAKKUM is the only local NGO in Indonesia that holds
CHS membership
11. CHS and Istanbul Principles
Putting victim as person with their rights is the purpose of
YAKKUM service.
Not only giving help but it is mandatory to ensure gender
equality, inclusion (pwd, older people, children, vulnerable
groups) can build their life with dignity

disability to improve their quality life, health and their
family life
2. SRHR program is highlighted in gender issues and
inclusive young people together
3. Emergency Response Unit strongly concern women,
older people and children welfare on their humanitarian
programs

YAKKUM hospitals have been working together with
CSR to provide harelip surgery for people around
YAKKUM hospitals and many incidental project.
14. Whereas in development and sustainability is different
Investing in the community must have immediate
revenues toward CSR
