This document summarizes a research project investigating the relationship between the height of starting back five forwards in elite male rugby teams and their lineout success rate. Data on heights and lineout statistics for 80 players over 4 games was collected from online sources and analyzed using Excel. Results from a spearman correlation and scatter plot showed little correlation between height and lineout success. While one hypothesis was supported, the results contradicted the expectation that taller forwards would have higher success rates. The conclusion recommends investigating other factors like hooker technique and lifter height.
