The patient must prepare for surgery by getting admitted on the scheduled date, stopping medications as instructed, and bringing medical records. They will receive physiotherapy training for post-operative chest exercises, be briefed on the surgery, and sign consent forms while arranging for blood donation. In the evening before surgery, the patient will shower with medicated soap, get a haircut, and can request sleep medication.
