This is a photojournalism project I did for school based on something important to me, soccer.

1. PART OF MY LIFE

2. I have been playing
soccer since I can
remember, and I can
not imagine who I
would be without it.

3. It requires a
significantly large
portion of time to
train and improve,
but this time helps
release stress and
anger.

4. I barely see my little sister, but we always make time to practice
together even if it is late on a Sunday night. The fresh air always
feel nice and the concentration helps clear my mind from stress.

5. We practice skills, long
balls, and trapping the
ball from the air. My
teammates and I also
often meet up to train
together.

6. My second tournament team also has late
practices one friday a month. This team
requires a lot of sacrifice, including having a
tournament in San Diego the weekend before
finals. It is worth this because I get to spend
time doing what I love with my best friends.

7. We have many far events, including
showcases in Davis and Vegas,
tournaments in San Diego, and
league games with long drives.
Recently, we drove to Valencia, which
was a full day trip, from 8:45 AM to
7:45 PM.

8. The long drives are
fun because we
carpool and spend
time with each
other. We take naps
and listen to music.

9. Playing a game after the long drive was difficult
because our legs were tired and stiff, but in the second
half we worked hard as a team.

10. The weekend
before driving to
Valencia was the
spring npl
showcase in
Davis. It was a
long drive and it
was really hot, but
we played really
well and had fun.

11. Before games,
we arrive over
an hour early
to listen to
music, stretch,
get focused,
and warm up.

12. We discuss
team goals
for the
game and
what we are
going to
focus on.

13. We always
spend a solid
amount of time
stretching to try
to stay healthy.

14. During some
tournaments and
showcases, a person
volunteering will come
offer us protein bars to
help us get our energy
back for later games.
They taste like
cardboard, but our
coach made us eat
them anyways.

15. Usually during tournaments, my two closest friends
and I will find a mall or outlets to go shopping.

16. We are usually also tired from the games, especially
when it was this hot. We will usually buy ice cream or
pretzels to share.

17. Sometimes
the malls are
sketchy or in
the middle of
nowhere, but
that does not
matter.

18. We usually try and find
new and exciting boba
places, but one time
we accidentally went to
a real tea house.

19. After each
tournament,
showcase, or game,
we always come
home covered in
bruises and sweat.
But we also come
home as closer
friends and a tighter
team.

20. I love my team so much and practices are the highlights of
every week.
