The document discusses evolution and humanity's potential for space travel while also acknowledging existential threats. It notes that Earth has sustained life for billions of years despite past extinction events. While humans are highly evolved, we remain vulnerable to natural disasters without defenses. The document expresses hope that humanity will achieve space travel in the not-too-distant future but cautions that venturing too far from Earth may not be wise given our vulnerabilities.

Evolution
1. Evolution
It seems to be than when a larger look is taken at life; the obvious can be stated. We all live on a planet that has being capable of sustaining life for billions of years. There is only one slight problem. Near extinction events do occur from time to time. Perhaps one is overdue.
Whatever the case may be, one thing is for sure. Man as a species may be highly evolved, but without some sort of defence; man is helpless against the elements. Reptiles as a species seem to have mastered this art having survived near extinction events of the past.
Oh what the heck; I might as well go straight for the jugular. Man is now capable of space travel; or at least it is my hope that he will be at some time in the not too distant future. Then man as a species will be represented amongst the top men and woman on this planet who together combined make any mission into space a certain success.
Yet the criteria for such a top post is high and decided only on merit. Such trivialities as race, sex or religious belief atheist or otherwise is of no concern. The only thing that is important is your ability to do your job and live in harmony with your crew.
I mean as a Jedi; I would be very reluctant to see Man fly much further from here. It would just not be wise.
