PERSECUTED FOR FAITH
What is persecution? Persecution is the systematic mistreatment of an individual or group by another group. - Wikipedia Online
Are you struggling with your faith because of persecution? Are you struggling with rejection because of your Christian faith?
Is Jesus’ teaching on persecution still relevant to contemporary Christians?
It is particularly distressing when some Christians are alienated or repressed for their views and beliefs of affiliation in Christ. But note behind every persecution there is a message and something God wants us to learn from. www.christiandrive.wordpress.com
The Psalmist David cried unto God in his days when trouble threatened to consume or suffocate him, when they campaigned to subjugate or eliminate him but God answered him. Psalm 77:8-9 (New International Version) Has his unfailing love vanished forever? Has his promise failed for all time? Has God forgotten to be merciful? Has he in anger withheld his compassion?" www.christiandrive.wordpress.com
David in the face of grave persecution remembered the wonders of Old for He is God, there is none else and there is none like him. I will remember the deeds of the LORD; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago. I will meditate on all your works   and consider all your mighty deeds. www.christiandrive.wordpress.com
In persecution look through the eyes of faith, believe Him when he says he will do His pleasure and purpose in that stormy situation. Isaiah 46:9-10 (Amplified Bible) [Earnestly] remember the former things, [which I did] of old; for I am God, and there is no one else; I am God, and there is none like Me,    Declaring the end and the result from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure and purpose,
Remember He said: I am the LORD for they shall not be ashamed that wait for me For His thoughts are not our thought, neither are our ways his ways Is My hand shortened at all, that it cannot redeem? Or have I no power to deliver? Behold, at My rebuke I dry up the sea, I make the rivers a desert; their fish stink because there is no water, and they die of thirst. You are not ALONE www.christiandrive.wordpress.com
‘ Blessed are the persecuted’ says Jesus. How relevant are Jesus’ teachings about persecution to contemporary Christians? www.christiandrive.wordpress.com
Very relevant indeed from the reasons in the following verses of the scripture 1. You will be persecuted if you live a godly life-2 Tim 3:12 2. Through many hardship and tribulation that we must enter into His rest- Act 14:22 3. Remember the master-servant relationship we are into, if he was persecuted for what he stood for, why then do we expect to be treated differently if our conviction is truly rooted in him? –John 15:20 www.christiandrive.wordpress.com
A quick look at persecution through the eyes of faith reveals the joy that awaits the faithful in Christ. Matthew 5:10 (Amplified Bible) Blessed and happy and enviably fortunate and spiritually prosperous (in the state in which the born-again child of God enjoys and finds satisfaction in God's favor and salvation, regardless of his outward conditions) are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake (for being and doing right), for theirs is the kingdom of heaven!       www.christiandrive.wordpress.com
Focus not on the campaign to subjugate or eliminate you but look for the possibilities in the word concerning you. With Christ it is never hopeless, remember you are what God says you are and you have what God says you have because you are a peculiar person, sanctified, separated and put apart for his use. Know this, “Rejoice if you are persecuted, because you are fit for an acceptable purpose to proclaim liberty to them that are imprisoned by fleshy lust, to bind up the broken hearted, and to comfort all that mourn. www.christiandrive.wordpress.com
