2. The care which is given beyond the diagnosis, the
treatment which is beyond drugs, where the patient
and disease are treated as a whole, the individual
seeking for compassion towards him rather than a
cure!
4. Outpatient care
● Patients that visit the centre are usually suffering from
chronic diseases. They are either referred from an
oncologist or from the community. treated in certain
way that their approach towards the disease is changed
● They are counselled about the course and the prognosis
of the disease. It’ll have a staggering effect on their life
in spite of which, they are taught to manage their
complaints.
5. Inpatient care
● The most common complaint with which the patients
end up with is PAIN, the management of which may
require admission and consistent care.
● They are stabilised here by providing necessary
treatment under the warmth of treating doctors and the
nursing staff.
6. Home care
● The part of the community who are underprivileged to avail the
facilities due to physical, social or economical burden are taken
care of.
● In this the staff visits to their home with all the necessary
arrangements and free service is provided to them.
● The patients can also call the team of home care for any queries
as and when required.
● More than 700 patients are looked after by dividing them into
zones based on their residence.
7. Nurse’s day celebration
On the occasion of NURSE’S DAY
prayer was sung, invoking Lord
Ganesha as a customary part of the
program.
8. WORLD ANTI-TOBACCO DAY
On May 31st a Radio show was given on occasion of
WORLD ANTI-TOBACCO DAY depicting how people
become a prey of ABUSING TOBACCO, ALCOHOL,
RECREATIONAL DRUGS etc. succumbing to PEER
PRESSURE who initially do it for 'fun’ and later turns out
to be an addiction. They don’t realise that Tobacco is not
only bad for their own health, but also to their dear family
members around them. By the time this realisation dawns
upon them, it’s already late!
11. The goals of palliative care revolve around
providing holistic care to the patient. They are:

● Social
● Spiritual
● Socio-economical
● Emotional
