The Cesis Battlefield's Research Team (C-BRT) aims to create a tour map of the Cesis Battlefield to educate the public about the 1920 battle. Run informally by volunteers, including ex-military, they conduct historical and military research on site, through documents, and live accounts. Their work produces maps, catalogs, and educational materials incorporated into tourism and history lessons. Activities include battlefield trips, workshops, and cooperation with schools and militaries to honor the battle's anniversary. While self-funded and non-academic, the C-BRT seeks to preserve and disseminate the real history of the impactful first battle of modern combined arms warfare at Cesis.

Members include retired soldiers, police, teachers and history enthusiasts who conduct fieldwork on weekends to investigate archaeological sites, identify military structures and recover artifacts, which are reported to authorities. The group faces challenges with limited specialized training and resources but hopes to advance understanding of this important early modern battle.
