The orangutans at Semenggoh Wildlife Centre in Malaysia roam free over 650 hectares of jungle. There are 24 orangutans that live in the area, which is supplemented with additional food twice daily since the forest cannot provide enough food on its own. Visitors witnessed only two young orangutans at the feeding station on one afternoon, and earlier that day the dominant male orangutan attacked the viewing platform, showing that these are still wild animals that can feel threatened by humans.
