Celebrations of the United Nations Day of Families organized by Universal Peace Federation chapters, May 15, 2011
The Universal Peace Federation affirms the value of the family as the core unit of society. The family has formed the basis for communities, societies and civilizations throughout the ages. Virtually all the world’s religions teach the sacred value of marriage and family. The family is the school of love. It is also the school of virtue, ethics and citizenship.
The cohesion and stability of the family are prerequisites for a healthy and stable society. Conversely, the breakdown of the family contributes to a wide range of social problems. By strengthening the family, we can build a stronger base of social capital that will enhance the overall quality of life for everyone.
The natural family is grounded in marriage, the cornerstone of the family. Children benefit from having loving parents, a mother and father, who are committed to the well-being of their sons and daughters. There is no greater joy and no greater responsibility than that of raising boys and girls to become mature, socially-engaged and successful men and women. This is the role and responsibility of parents and grandparents.
Traditional marriage and family are being challenged in a variety of ways at this time in history, by poverty, migration, displacement, urbanization, conflict, disease, etc. In addition, some question the value of traditional marriage and family. Others seek to redefine them. Despite these challenges, men and women the world over still aspire to build strong, loving, lasting marriages and, as parents, to raise children who prosper and flourish.

Community Arts Partnerships (CAP) Program PresentationKara Klein
Presentation design for marketing Community Arts Partnerships and community+public arts:DETROIT programs to funders and stakeholders. Original presentation incorporates animated objects and Detroit Future City video.
In a hyper-connected, hyper-globalized world, in which consciousness and hopes are being forged online, in a complex, rapidly changing world that is facing major challenges that concern all of humanity, we believe that cultural organizations have a fundamental role to play. They can accompany the audiences in these changes, prepare and structure minds, be the crucible of more agile societies in the face of the changes brought by digital technology, be the catalysts of more creative societies and more involved in their own future. Thus, in 2022, MuseumWeek will focus on the theme of "culture, society and innovation".

Digital/Computer Paintings as a Modern- day Igbo Artists’ vehicle for creatin...ikennaaghanya
Revolutions come in many varieties. Some tear down established notions destructively, while others consist of forging new paradigms through constructive means such as an ideological or technological innovation that fundamentally alters an individual or group’s creative path. But all have their place in history. This paper charts a course of change in art and art styles, as been practiced by some modern-day Igbo artists. It follows the meandering path that has been influenced by technological advances that have in turn influenced art culture and practices in technique. In particular, this paper examines how the modern-day processes of digital art have attempted to broaden the modern-day Igbo artist’s knowledge base, and has influenced new ways of doing old things. Together these ideas have impacted modern-day art by creating a fertile landscape allowing an artist’s inquisitive tendency to take root and uniquely flourish. The aim of this paper is to analyze the various digital paintings produced by three modern-day Igbo artists (Ikenna Aghanya, Okechukwu Johnson and Chidi Onwuekwe) and in turn examine how the use of the computer, as an art tool has affected their creative process. The paper will also look at the functions of this medium as it pertains to each of the decorative paintings done by these artists.
