WHAT IS RESURRECTION OF JESUS ?
• is an event that reveals not only the glory of God
but our limitations. Jesus died because his
apostles left him.
• is an experience of forgiveness and
reconciliation for those who realize that it is
their sins that hung Jesus on the cross.
Christ is risen!
This is the cornerstone, the solid ground
upon which our faith stands. St. Paul assures
us when he said, “If Christ has not been
raised, then our preaching is in vain and your
faith is in vain.” (1 Cor. 15:17).
St. Paul said that Jesus was designated
Son of God in power according to the
Spirit of holiness by his resurrection
from the dead. Through His
Resurrection, Christ brought us a share
in the new life as adopted children of
the Father.
Christ Risen assures our own future
resurrection. “He will change our
lowly body to conform with his
glorified body by the power that
enables him also to bring all things
into subjection to himself.” (Phil 3:21)
(CFC 620-625).
St. Thomas the Apostle
SAINT THOMAS, THE APOSTLE,
was a Galilean of humble birth.
He had an ardent love for our
Lord, and was willing to die for
him.
Tradition says that after
Pentecost, Thomas was
captured and sold as a
slave to Gundafor, King of
India.
The king liberated Thomas and
was baptized together with
many of his people. Afterwards,
Thomas went all over India
evangelizing, until he got trouble
with King Mazday for converting
his wife.
Process Questions:
1. How did St. Thomas confirm the
resurrection of Jesus?
2. How did Jesus approach St. Thomas
even in his disbelief?
3. What lessons have you learn from the
life story of St. Thomas? How will you
apply those lessons in your life?
