Krampus is a legendary demon from European folklore known for punishing misbehaving children during the Christmas season. He is depicted as a beast-like creature with horns, sharp nails and a long tongue. According to folklore, on the night of December 5th Krampus accompanies Saint Nicholas and determines whether children have been naughty or nice, punishing the naughty ones with switches or bags that they are kidnapped in.
