Long-Term Care- Life Care Centerof Paradise Valley (67.5 hours)
 General nursing assessment/shift assessment
 Vital signs, pulseoximetry
 Intake and output
 Assist with feeding
 ADL care—bathing, beds, hygiene
 ROM exercises
 Assistivedevices
 Positioning, transfers
 Application of TEDs, SCDs
 Catheterization
 Enema administration
 Blood glucose testing
 Documentation—flow sheets, narrative, VS, I & O
 Medication administration – IM, SQ, ID, Eye, Ear.
 Wound care
Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, Newborn Nursery, and NICU- BannerThunderbird (67.5 hours)
 Maternaland newborn assessments
 Newborn vital signs, pulseoximetry, newborn screen
 Catheterization (indwelling, straight; insertion, removal, and care)
 Enema/suppository administration
 Blood glucose testing
 Heel stick lab draws
 IM, SQ and ID medications
 Eye ointment administration
 Documentation -flow sheets, narrative, VS, I & O
Pediatrics, NICU, PICU- Cardon’s Children’s Medical Center(48 hours)
 Pediatric and neonate assessments
 Routine AM/PM care, vitals, and I/O
 NG tube insertion
 Enteral feedings via NGT
 Starting and D/C peripheral IVs
 Administering meds PO, IM, SQ, IVPB
 Trach care
 SBAR reporting and documentation
Med-Surg, Liver & Kidney, Pulmonary, Dialysis, Transplant, Endoscopy, Cardiac Catheterization Lab- Banner
Good Samaritan (267 hours)
 Focused assessments
 Patient education
 Aseptictechnique (medical and surgical), isolation procedures
 Indwelling or straight urinary catheterization and removal, catheter care
 Specimen collection
 Medication administration – suppository, enema, oral, IM, SC, ID
 IV piggyback medication administration
 IV insertion, care, flush, and discontinuation
 Venipuncture
 Heel or finger stick for blood glucose testing, newborn screen, bilirubin
 NG tube insertion and care, gavage, lavage
 Suctioning (nasopharyngeal, tracheotomy)
 Oxygen administration, incentive spirometry, peak flow monitoring
 EKG lead placement
 Wound and ostomy care
 Suture and stapleremoval
 Evaluation of patient responseto illness, treatment, and education
