◦ Nursing is a vital consequence to the individual receiving services; which fulfills the
needs, that the person cannot meet by the family or by other persons in the
community.
◦ The essential components of professional nursing are care, cure and coordination. The
care aspect is more than "to take care of", it is "caring for" and "caring about" as well.
◦ It is dealing with human beings under stress, frequently over long periods of time. It is
providing comfort and support in times of anxiety, loneliness and helplessness.
◦ It is listening, evaluating and intervening appropriately.

the patients, family group or community.
◦ The nurses establish coordination within health care team, persons and support systems
to address the health needs of the patients and reach the goals of delivering quality
health care.
◦ Professional nursing promotes healing in such a way that builds a relationship between
nurse and patient. Caring for individual, families and population is the key focus of
nursing.
◦ .Nurses use nursing process (cognitive skills and evidence- based practice) to assess,
diagnose and identify objectives and plan, and implement and evaluate the care.
◦ Nursing practice is a strong link between the professional work and environment to

◦ Just as each person has a philosophy of life, each professional nurse has a philosophy of
nursing
◦ An understanding of one's own beliefs, feelings, values, attitudes and culture precedes the
