A meeting was held in the Samaúma community on the Jauaperi River with 25 community members to discuss the creation of the Baixo Rio Branco-Jauaperi extractivist reserve. Community members had the opportunity to express doubts to Jasylene Pena de Abreu, a WWF-Brazil technician, who helped clarify questions. Officials from the Roraima government arrived accompanied by an armed police officer. At the end of the day, children played in canoes on a lake where black caimans, including one large one, were also spotted.
