The Demon Core was a nuclear core developed at Los Alamos during World War II that claimed the lives of several scientists. It killed two scientists when each made a mistake handling the core. After the war, the Demon Core was involved in opening the first rift at Area 51 in 1947, through which deadly energy beings called Fireflies came. In response, the Nightstalkers special forces group was formed to battle the Fireflies and close rifts between worlds. Now there is a new surge of rift activity in Tennessee threatening humanity. The Nightstalkers must finally confront the truth behind the rifts' origins and what happened to the Demon Core scientists who disappeared into the first rift.

According to official records, the Demon
Core no longer exists. That’s true. It’s just
not in our timeline any more.

4. After the war, the Demon Core helped open
the first Rift at Area 51 in 1947…
and coming through
that Rift were deadly
beings of pure energy,
called Fireflies. They
could go into and
control animate and
inanimate objects.

5. In response, the Nightstalkers were formed.
They have stood between humanity and the
Fireflies and have been shutting Rifts ever since.

6. However, whatever power controlling the
Rifts is getting smarter…

7. And now there is a resurgence of Rifts in
Tennessee, threatening our very existence.

8. the Nightstalkers know there’s no one
else remotely prepared to battle these
intrusions into our world

Nightstalkers are the elite Special Ops unit that take care of the things

scientists. They’re also a little bit crazy and a long way outside the bell
curve, and not necessarily on the good end. And in Time Patrol, they
transition from being Nightstalkers to becoming the Time Patrol.
