Responsible for the study and design of the main water network of the Six of October city, and the
water and wastewater network for the sections C and Y of the Shorouk city. Also supervised and
trained the Ministry engineers to use micro computers for network design.
1994 Consultant for the Planning Studies and Models Project (PSM), the Planning Sector, Ministry of
Public Works and Water Resources.Assignment was to run the unsteady flow model 'CANALS'
developed by Utah University. Responsibilities included: preparation of the 'Data Needs Assessment
Report', co-ordination of data collection efforts with the Decision Support Unit (DSU), Irrigation
Improvement Project (IIP), and Main System Management (MSM) staff in Cairo, actual field data
collection for the Serry Canal in Menya Governorate, preliminary calibration of the model.
1991-1994 Consultant for ISAWIP, Integrated Soil And Water Improvement Project, SNC company, Mansoura,
Egypt. Responsibilities included the operation and maintenance of irrigation canal conveyance system
simulation model, training of two engineers to use the model, developing several support programs,
collection of field data to calibrate the model, setting up automatic control operation rules, and testing
the automation system. Also, contributed to PLC software contract settlement negotiations,and
declaration of acceptance procedures,translated and recorded, in English, the Arabic versions of the
Agricultural Extension tapes on the activities of the Development Support Communication Centre
(DSCC) in Dikirnis, Daqahliya.
