1. 2007-2013 KEY FIGURES
At €137.4 million in 2013, turnover was down
15% over the previous year.
The financial year was marked by a drop in
turnover from silver collector coins sold at face
value : for this product range overall, sales
amounted to €47 million versus €68 million in
2012, a drop of 30%.
The circulating coin business earned €60 million
in 2013, compared with €61 million in 2012
(down 2%). Sales of circulating euros to the
French State saw a similar change (-2%), as did
sales to Foreign Governments (-3%).
PAYROLL STABLE BEFORE
MÉTALMORPHOSES RECRUITMENT
In 2013 payroll dropped 1% in value overall and
1.4% per person (full-time equivalent, or FTE).
Mandatory annual negotiations during the period
led to some individual or age- and skills-related
increases, but no collective increase.
The workforce remained close to 500 people.
Expressed in full-time equivalents (FTEs), it rose
from 492.3 in 2012 to 494.2 in 2013, an increase
of 0.4%.
POSITIVE RESULTS
After an exceptional year in 2011 and a good year
in 2012, the 2013 financial year was challenging
because of difficulties in selling collector coins at
face value, a new business that has been driving
growth since the end of 2008.
Operating income was nevertheless largely positive
at €10.1 million or 7.4% of turnover.
Overall, net income for the 2013 financial year
was €5.4 million or 3.9% of turnover.
INVESTING IN THE FUTURE
The pace of investments increased significantly after the formation of the EPIC and will continue to
accelerate with the MétaLmorphoses project, which entered the construction phase in 2011. Expenditure
on the project was €11.4 million between 2009 and 2012 (costs and investments) and €7.1 million in
2013. The project will represent a total investment of over €60 million.
