Summary Parallel lines  have the same slopes Perpendicular lines  have opposite reciprocal slopes The slope for both lines is ½, Up 1 over 2 The slope for the blue line is -2/1  And the slope for the red line is 1/2 Opposite and reciprocal (flipped over)
