This document discusses modal verbs and their uses in English. Modal verbs are used to indicate modality, or likelihood, ability, permission and obligation. They include verbs like can, could, may, might, must, shall, should, will, would. Modal verbs go before other verbs and do not take suffixes. They are always followed by the base form of another verb. Examples of uses for different modal verbs are provided, such as using can to ask for permission, should to give advice, and must to express obligation. Exercises are included for practicing modal verbs.
