Joan Miró was born in Barcelona, Spain in 1893 and became a famous painter, ceramicist, and sculptor like Picasso and Van Gogh. He preferred the colors and would paint with brushes, his fingers, and hands. Miró was known for painting moons, stars, and animal eyes in a melancholy style. He practiced spontaneous drawing, which encouraged freeform creative expression.
