This document provides instructions for a student project investigating RC and RL circuits. The objectives are to explore voltage, current, and time-dependent behavior in these circuits. RC circuits involve a resistor and capacitor, where charging the capacitor causes current to decrease over time. RL circuits use an inductor instead, where increasing current causes the inductor's opposing emf to decrease over time. Students are asked to build circuits, measure voltages and currents, calculate time constants from exponential decay curves, and report on their experimental results and circuit fabrication process.
