Andrew Jackson Young Jr. was born March 12, 1932
in New Orleans, Louisiana to Daisy Fuller and Andrew
Jackson Young Sr. Young was born during the darkest
time of The Great Depression and Jim Crow
segregation.
Family
Young had only one brother named Walter Fuller
Young Sr.
Education
Young Attended Dillard University, in New Orleans,
Louisiana, in 1947-1948.He also attended Howard
University, in Washington, D.C., in 1951, he got his
B.S. in Biology. So he entered divinity school at,
Hartford Theological Seminary, in Hartford,
Connecticut, in 1955, B.D.

Goal
Andrew Young’s Goals were to become a dentist and follow in the
footsteps of his father. Instead he chose to go into ministry and
lead the people.
Challenges
Other than being a black man trying to make a living and live
and honest life in the Jim Crow era, Andrew Young didn’t
face any challenges other blacks didn’t go through.
