General Objective of survey
To assess health status of the family members from Staff Housing of Central Women
Hospital (CWH) and New Yangon General Hospital (NYGH).
3. Specific Objectives
1) To describe the socio-demographic characteristics of the households
2) To assess the smoking, alcohol drinking, betel chewing status among adult family members
3) To assess morbidity patterns among family members
4) To identify reproductive and maternal health care utilization among reproductive aged women
5) To assess immunization status of under five children
6) To identify the environmental conditions of the families
4. Methodology
Study title
Family health survey among the households of CWH and NYGH Staff Housing
Study design
Community based cross sectional descriptive study.

Study Population
People in CWH Staff Compound, Ahlone Township
People in NYGH Staff Compound, Lanmadaw Township
6. Data Collection Method
Family Health Care survey and Morbidity patterns survey questionnaires were provided to students
Face to face interview with family members concerning on:
Demographic and socio-economic conditions
Habits and environmental condition
Health status and health seeking pattern
Maternal health care service utilization
Immunization status of under five children
Physical disability and mental handicap during last 1 year
Morbidity during last 3 months
Observation of environmental conditions:
Housing condition
Lighting and Ventilation
Kitchen sanitation
Water supply
Refuse disposal
Pest activities
Compound sanitation
Latrine sanitation
7. Detailed methodology
CWH and NYGH Staff Housings were selected for family health care by Dept of P&SM
Two students were assigned to one family each for taking family health care and surveying questionnaires
about family health and morbidity patterns within family
One responsible household was selected by the students with the help of In-charges of the compound and
faculty members of P&SM Department
Firstly, every student introduced themself to the household members and explained about the purpose of visit
and took consent to participate in our study
Then we made face to face interview and filled in the questionnaire
Measurement of blood pressure, random blood sugar among adults and weight and height for under five
children were done
8. Data cleaning and editing
After each visit, collected data was checked for completeness and correctness
Requirements were updated on the second visit
After 2 visits, collected data forms were entered into Epidata software version 3.5
Data editing was done by the P&SM Department
9. Data compilation and Analysis
Stata software version 15.3 was used for data management
Frequency tables and cross tables were made for detailed analysis and presentation
