2. PROJECT BRIEF
The project is directed towards a menswear collection for the season SS ‘23. The col-
lection titled Dusty Elegance takes inspiration from MUJI’s material Garden. The instal-
lation has been set in the Japanese retailer’s Soho store at 434 Broadway. The entire
decor is very subtle, minimal yet elegant.
The category of the collection includes Business Casuals and Friday Dressing ensem-
bles.
The fabrics used for shirts are mostly cotton, cotton blends, oxfords. Trousers can be
found in bottom weight twills and the jackets have bottom weight twill and suede as
well.
Also, a research has been done on a menswear brand (ARROW) in order to study care-
fully the garment details and current trends in menswear.
4. ARROW
ARROW brand’s legacy began with the perfect white shirt introduced in 1851
for the white collar professionals, establishing a cornerstone in the American
men’s dress shirt business.

7. The installation is made up of seven vignettes, each dedicated to a different material used in Muji’s
pared- back homeware. They focus on ceramic, glass, plastic, linen, wood, aluminium, and water. The
products have been displayed from the minimal brand’s range, along with an element of the material
used to make them. The installation is more about highlighting materiality in general.
8. The mood is ambivalence. The colours
used are very subtle, depicting a calm and
poised mood. On the other hand, there
are numerous shapes used with layering,
representing certain amount of chaos and
restlessness.
