Stage 1: Preliminary Meeting between Settlement Judge and lawyers
Stage 2: Joint Meeting between Settlement Judge and all parties involved
including lawyers
Stage 3: Separate Meeting between Settlement Judge and each party (with
lawyer)
Stage 3: Conclusion of Mediation

Generally, civil disputes concerning all cases except non-injury motor accident
cases and personal injury claims will go through the mediation process above. If a
civil dispute cannot be resolved through the mediation service, parties will then
need to take steps within certain time frames to bring the matter to a trial. A trial
will be heard before a judge that is different from the judge conducting the
mediation. Information that was discussed during the mediation process will
remain confidential and will not be revealed to the trial judge.
