MaxiConcepts manufactures internal arc-protected miniature substations in-house in a range of configurations to suit client needs with safety and reliability prioritized. Miniature substations range from 315kVA to 1250KVA transformers and 6.6kV to 33kV voltages, and can be customized up to 2Mva with various component options. 1. Miniature Substations
MaxiConcepts internal arc-protected miniature substations are manufactured in-house and are available in a
range of configurations to suit almost any client requirement. Designed primarily with the safety of people and
reliability of service in mind, MaxiConcepts miniature substations contribute to improving electrical
distribution in medium voltage networks. Stringent quality control and test procedures in our manufacturing
facilities assure the highest levels of quality in MaxiConcepts miniature substations.
Construction Characteristics
 High-quality, folded sheet metal customizable housings manufactured at our in-house sheet metal factory
(mild steel or 3CR12 – coastal).
 Re-enforced hot dipped galvanised steel channel bases.
 Fully automated power-coating plant allows for the provision of any colour or texture.
 Fully segregated compartments for the Medium Voltage Ring Main Unit, transformer and Low Voltage
compartments.
 Robust, removable roofs ensure easy access by authorized personnel.
Product Information
 May be ordered with any oil, air, vacuum or SF₆ Ring Main Unit. Our units are designed to accommodate any
Ring Main Unit.
 A wide variety of transformers from 315kVA to 1250KVA.
 Transformers may be specified as oil-fitted or dry-type for mining applications.
 Off-load tap switches may be specified to SANS, IEC or NRS specifications.
 Voltages range from 6.6kV to 33kV.
 Custom-built miniature substations available up to 2Mva.
 All components can be installed to specifications.
Operation & Training
 Easy access through front door to compartment housing M.V panels, L.V panels and substation control
devices
 Each transformer is provided with its own door for easier access for removal and/or maintenance
 Full training is available on request for the operation and maintenance of the miniature substation
Compliance with technical regulations and standards
 All transformer substations are manufactured in accordance with client requirements and installation area,
therefore all miniature substations will comply to regulation legislation required (SANS, IEC, BS, NRS)
