Mats Jonasson

Mats Jonasson´s talent as a designer attracted attention early on, when he started work as an
apprentice engraver at the glassworks in 1959. Over the next few decades he worked with many
of the most respected contemporary glass artists in Sweden. During this period, he developed
that natural style of his which he´s since perfected.
”Our forests have captured the hearts and minds of people since time immemorial” says Mats.
Inspired by the natural world around him, he has opened his mind to create his distinctive
masterpieces in the finest Swedish crystal. Nowadays, this son of the glassworks is represented all
over the world.

Mimmi Trinh

Mimmi Trinh was raised amongst the forests of southern Sweden near the “Kingdom of Crystal”,
but has lived in Japan for several years, where she studied Japanese ceramics and culture. She uses
recognizable objects and shapes in her work, which she places into a new and imaginative contexts.
She gets her inspiration from both her Asian experience and her Swedish upbringing, and as one
of the younger generation of artists, she doesn’t mind ”breaking the mould” in her creative work.
Artistically she enjoys working with patterns and organic shapes. Mimmi Trinh has a degree in
product design, but also a broad background in glass, having studied glass at the Kosta Glass
School and design at both Växjö and Kalmar Universities.

Erika Höglund

Erika Höglund was born in Sweden in 1971 into a family of artists, where glass and design
played an important role in everyday life. As a child she was fascinated by the teamwork that
existed between the glassblower and the designer and what they could achieve by working
together on glowing crystal. With this background and fiercely independent and often wild and
fantastic streak of creativity, Erika has opened up completely new perspectives in what can be
achieved in the medium of crystal. Since 1997 she´s been allowing her creativity to flood out at
MATS JONASSON MÅLERÅS.

Robert Ljubez

After escaping the horrors of war in Bosnia, Robert Ljubez ended up in Sweden at the end of 1992.
Experiences from engraving and drawing in combination with an artistic talent led to a job at the Glass-
works in 1996. At first Robert Ljubez worked as an engraver, but he soon became Mats Jonasson´s right
hand man. Robert´s time att MATS JONASSON MÅLERÅS has provided him with
an important knowledge of the unexpected possibilities of crystal. A successful combination of
curiosity and a great respect for the craftsmanship has inspired him to create his own objects in crystal.
