Taika Waititi is a New Zealand film director, writer, actor and comedian. He was born in 1975 in New Zealand and studied theatre at Victoria University, graduating in 1997. Some of his notable works include directing the films Boy (2010) and Two Cars, One Night (2003), which earned him an Academy Award nomination, as well as acting in films like Scarfies and Eagle vs Shark. He is also known for his comedy work with Jemaine Clement. In 2012, Waititi and his wife welcomed the birth of their daughter.

welcomed their daughter to the world on
May 20 2012. Her full name is Te Kainga O
Te Hinekaahu Waititi. She is named after
Waititi's grandmother. He was joking
around with his American mates and said
that her name means "Resurrection of
Tupac" or "Mazda RX7" after his dream car.
