Laguna Chascomús is a large shallow lake located in the Pampas region of Argentina, southeast of Buenos Aires. It covers an area of over 400 square kilometers and has an average depth of just 1.5 meters, making it one of the largest wetlands in South America. The lake provides important habitat for numerous species of birds and fish and is a popular spot for fishing, birdwatching, hiking and other recreational activities.
