Mardi Gras, also known as Fat Tuesday, is a Christian holiday celebrated in many countries that marks the last day before the start of Lent and is always 47 days before Easter Sunday. The first Mardi Gras parade was recorded in 1837 in France and the tradition has since spread to many other places including Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, and Sweden. Official colors of Mardi Gras include purple, gold, and green and its motto is "If I ever cease to Love".
