Located at 12 School Street in Marblehead, Massachusetts, the Marblehead Little Theatre is one of the
oldest continually operating community theaters in the United States. Since 1955, Marblehead Little
Theater has produced musicals and small plays in its historic Firehouse venue.
Marblehead’s productions have received regional recognition, including nominations for DASH
(Distinguished Achievement and Special Honors) Awards by the Eastern Massachusetts Association of
Community Theater. The 2009 production of Oklahoma! received five nominations and the 2005-2006
season garnered 18 nominations.
Marblehead Little Theatre is distinguished by the Marblehead Chamber of Commerce as the 2007
Business of the Year, and in 2008 the company received a Mass Cultural Grant from the Massachusetts
Cultural Facilities Fund. Momentum from this $60,000 award has helped propel the company through
years of success, including the 2012-2013 season, filled with five different productions as well as special
events and children’s theater.
