This document shows employment figures in thousands for Spain's public and private sectors from 1995 to 2001. The public sector grew from 1,456 thousand employees in 1995 to 1,967 thousand in 2001, while the private sector increased from 1,356 thousand to 1,994 thousand over the same period. Together total employment in Spain rose from 2,812 thousand in 1995 to 3,961 thousand in 2001.
