LESSONS LEARNED FROM AN IT/ITC
PRACTICE PERSPECTIVE
1. Spend time (lots of it) learning about and understanding the industry, the
players, and customers needs.
2. Become engaged (including speaking opportunities) in IT industry trade
shows and conferences.
3. Critical to truly understand the role, responsibilities and challenges of
CIO’s, IT Manager’s …(and other business clients’) in the process.
4. Join and become actively involved in an IT/ITC professional (e.g. CIPS)
and/or industry association (ITAC/CATA)
5. Expand your promotion and writing activities beyond the legal
community.
6. Get on a tech Board – Boards always need legal input.
