Boarding your Beechcraft Super King Air at Moorabbin is
an exciting start to the next 6 days.
Lord Howe Island is one of Australia’s own secluded remote
pristine islands in the Middle of the South Pacific Ocean. You get
the gold leaf treatment from the moment you step on board your
private aircraft.
Day 1  Depart Melbourne for Cessnock, a vibrant country
town in the heart of the Hunter Valley wine country. Lunch at the
Two Fat Blokes Gourmet Kitchen, then a wine tour through the
local region and dinner at the Botanica Restaurant.
Accommodation: Spicers Vineyard Estate
Day 2-5  Leaving  the mainland in the King Air’s wake you
fly to Lord Howe Island. On arrival, be greeted for a transfer to the
Lodge.
The Lodge nestles among kentia palms and frangipani and
eyeballs the twin peaks of Lidgbird and Gower from every window.
Sometimes this mini-Hawaii comprising mountains and sea is
draped in fine mist, and other times sharp and bold.
Each day is packed with new adventures and excursions. There is
spare time to do “your own thing”. Excursions available include;
• A glass bottom boat tour within the Island’s sheltered, crystal
clear Lagoon, followed by a BBQ lunch.
• An Island BBQ at Neds Beach (in 2005 was voted Australia’s
cleanest beach).
• Feed the fish at Neds Beach, a perfect beach and a great
spot for snorkeling. At Ned’s the Island’s fish will come to
you.
• Join world renowned naturalist Ian Hutton for a guided
interpretive tour of Mt Eliza.
• The pristine North Bay is located in a remote area of the
Lagoon. Accessible by boat your day long excursion takes
you to stunning coral gardens with abundant fish life, a bush
walk and a visit tp seabird colonies. A sumptuous BBQ lunch
is served.
• For walking enthusiasts, climb Malabar Hill or take the ridge
walk to Kim’s Lookout. One of Lord Howe’s most popular
walks starts on Neds Beach Road and offers spectacular
views along the spine of the Island’s mountain ridge.
• Maybe just relax by the pool at the Lodge or see the island
at your own pace…walking, cycling or lounging around.
