The institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), Bangalore Local Network to organize IET’s Technology Leadership Talk on:
Theme: The next big thing “Industrial Internet”
The Internet of Things refers to uniquely identifiable objects and their virtual representations in an Internet-like structure. The term Internet of Things was proposed by Kevin Ashtonin The concept of the Internet of Things first became popular through the Auto-ID Center at MIT and related market analysis publications. Radio-frequency identification (RFID) is often seen as a prerequisite for the Internet of Things.
Equipping all objects in the world with minuscule identifying devices or machine-readable identifiers could be transformative of daily life For instance, business may no longer run out of stock or generate waste products, as involved parties would know which products are required and consumed. One’s ability to interact with objects could be altered remotely based on immediate or present needs, in accordance with existing end-user agreements. The talk will focus on Industrial Internet
The Industrial Internet is a term coined by GE and refers to the integration of complex physical machinery with networked sensors and software. The industrial Internet draws together fields such as machine learning, big data, the Internet of things and machine-to-machine communication to ingest data from machines, analyze it (often in real-time), and use it to adjust operations.

The institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), Bangalore Local Network is stretching its wings to add series of technical talks on the most important Engineering sector – Transportation. IET’s Bangalore Network presnts Technology Leadership Talk on:
Theme: Transportation for Developing Society
India is one of the fast growing economies around the world and looking for the best possible solution in Transportation needs for urban development. The urban population growth projected @ 40% by end of year 2030 to @ 30% in year 2008. Engineering sector is gearing up to meet this challenge of rapid growth with competitive innovation for various cultural and geographical needs. Both the lectures are going to take us forward for creative thinking and understanding the subject differently.
The document announces a technology leadership talk on the next wave of silicon revolution to be given by Ms. Kumud Srinivasan, President of Intel India. The talk will take place on September 5th, 2013 in Mysore, India and discuss how innovation can help companies excel by creating new products and services. It will also address the complex challenges emerging technologies face in areas like social, political, economic and safety issues. The talk is being organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry and The Institution of Engineering and Technology. Advance registration is required by September 3rd due to limited seating.

Theme: Digital Era with Consumer Internet & Touching Cloud 9 with Cloud Computing
In the Digital era Internet business models are categorized as business-to-consumer, business-to-business, and more recently, consumer-to-consumer. Business-to-consumer and business-to-business models typically sell goods and services or provide information designed to help visitors make purchase decisions. Consumer-to-consumer models involve consumer-to-consumer information or product exchange. Cloud computing relies on sharing of resources to achieve coherence and economies of scale, similar to a utility (like the electricity grid) over a network. At the foundation of cloud computing is the broader concept of converged infrastructure and services. This can work for allocating resources to users. The term "moving to cloud" also refers to an organization moving away from a traditional CAPEX model to the OPEX model.

Andrey Dolinin
